The revolution was beginning to take a radical turn the power was being passed from the national assembly to the new paris commune, because of disagreement within the national assembly and their eventual division into smaller factions. Stockings were not practical for them and their profession. Radicals were being brought into political action by the jacobin club. Created for middle class, educated, wealthier, professional workers. They were discussing the idea of a democracy. Most famous member/ president of the club: maximilien robespierre (1758-1794) Was a lawyer by profession, was known for being incorruptible. In 1789 he was elected the regional deputy for the estates general. The national assembly would not listen to him. He was known for being a terrible public speaker, but for keeping his audiences oratory because of his sincerity.
