Trivium: grammar (latin), rhetoric (persuasion), logic arithmetic, literacy, music, Scholars were being accused of heresy, so the church established an inquisition: got heretics to repent and follow orthodox ideas. New orders of monks emerged: did not live in big communities, wandered in small groups or individually, taught orthodox christianity, devoted to caring for the poor.
