Supporters: royalists (in favour of monarchy; significant group of people) Royalists want to restore monarchy, first choice is: * l16"s younger brother (would be next in line for the throne, wasn"t in france at the time) * louis xiiiv - younger brother took on this name in honour of l16. March, 1797 - elections held for new legislative assembly of directory.
