Work in culture: all about jobs in the cultural industry. Akimbo: an interesting cultural site; a national email list where people can post ads, reviews, jobs; a conversational site about the arts. Sometimes people don"t get picked because their work doesn"t go together with others. But if you get work in front of people"s face, you"ll be remembered. Don"t let rejection get in the way of showing your work. How did you network internationally: i go to things like the houston photo festival, do portfolio reviews, did a residence in china when i met someone through gallery 44, things evolve kind of organically. Part of it is putting yourself out there and networking through festivals, where you meet hundreds of curators and artists. How do you get grants so consistently? you are a professional, they want to know about your work and what you want to do. The more you do it and practice, the better: practice!
