Musicology: research-based study focusing on the history of music, we will examine the history of music as it pertains to theatre, musicologists, every musicologist is trying to find something new and ground-breaking about their area of specialization. Duh: discuss how music can have a powerful and meaningful affect on the audience, accesses a different part of the mind that connects strongly with memories see. Alzheimer"s disease: can illicit powerful emotions, catches people"s attention in a different way, and can then convey messages through the lyrics better than in a speech, moves the story forward, or reflects the character"s emotions. The function of music in theatre: arias (songs) used to connect emotionally to the audience; relays the character"s feelings, not usually a lot of text, speech-song used to relay information about the plot. Instrumental music can be used to outline physical movements. If a character is running, the music might be fast tempo-ed.
