Vastus lateralis site *(preferred for infants: patient may be sitting or lying supine. If supine, have injection knee bent: place one hand above knee and one hand below greater trochanter of femur, locate midline of anterior thigh + midline of lateral thigh. Deltoid site (only used for small volumes [0. 5-1 ml]: patient may be sitting or lying down, 3 fingers below lower acromion process locate point on lateral arm in line with axilla (3 finger-widths below acromion process) Ventrogluteal site: centre of triangle formed between middle + index finger. Deltoid site: point on lateral arm in line with axilla (3 finger-widths below acromion process)
