Whole blood (wb): rbcs, wbcs, and platelets inside of plasma. Packed rbcs (prbcs): rbcs, preservative solution, and plasma. Platelets/thrombocytes: plasma proteins that allow clotting and regulate intravenous volume by maintaining plasma colloid osmotic pressure.
