Often not treated seriously enough because they occur at all areas of our lives, so we assumed they are just a common part of life. And because they are frequent/ do not usually result in severe or critical injuries. The causes are so diverse they seem out of our control, they are kind of boring . A fall near moving machines can result in more severe unjust than at our homes. Many deaths occur from slips, trips and falls, even when it is not from a great distance. Falls are at least 45% of all deaths in the workplace, a ton of wsib claims. Industrial regulation: floor or other surface needs to be free of obstructions, hazards, ice, snow. Surfaces cant have a slippery nish- anywhere the worker walk- ramps, stirs, catwalks, roofs. Anything protruding above a surface is an obstruction. Wsia covers slips, trips, falls on employer controlled property.
