PHL 513 Lecture 7: PHL 513 - Week 7
Document Summary
We think of space as an objective measurable container that holds all things. Mp claims there is a different way of thinking about space and focuses on how the body takes up space. The body"s way of taking up space is much different than the former idea of space. A space we experience by living the way weigh transfers and balances shows the appreciation of the body and the relationship of space. Primary sense of space = the lived body. Let"s not presume that the objective perception of space is automatically right or exists, and rather look at how we perceive space. Focus on how the body is special. My body is not simply an object in space, but an object of space. It is not the primary object of focus, but in fact, it is when you don"t focus on your body and it is thrown in the world that you realize it.
