God is dead skeptical of religion because science became more important. Our ideas of morality as christians similar to what kant says, we have a thinking self that cannot observe, there"s a self that no one can ever see because it is a subject. We think that there is something that acts when we act, and we think we know this thing which is the ego. We don"t have anything to stand on anymore no up and down no moral hierarchy no values no basis, no foundation. He"s not simply proposing atheism, he"s saying god is dead and he is the only one that is trying to figure out what to do next: god is dead , ubermensch superhuman, eternal return. 150 & 120 there is no first person . If there is no self, there is no ego, how can we care about ourselves when there is no such thing as self.
