October 30th, 2015 the aesthetics of horror. Gaut, the paradox of horror: it"s thrilling. Do get enjoyment, but it doesn"t respond to it, it just restates this. Most of us try to avoid fear: it"s just a movie! . Yeah it"s scary, but its not real life. They"re fiction, but the fear is real. The movie produces real fear: it"s just a little scary . It"s not the same amount of fear as real life fear/fear of being killed; too much fear is unpleasant. Paranormal activity it will give you nightmares and horror fans go for the scariest movie. Still a small amount of something bad: exploring new experiences. Get the experience of running away from a knife-yielding maniac. Decline parsons invitation to try water-boarding and you don"t need to explore it any further because you know its bad. Feels better to process the emotions (like with a psychologist)
