They refer and reflect deeper (and harder to capture) cultural signifiers. Florida"s argu(cid:373)e(cid:374)ts is that regio(cid:374)s that are re(cid:272)epti(cid:448)e to differe(cid:374)t t(cid:455)pes of people ha(cid:448)e a (cid:373)ore ope(cid:374)- minded culture, which is conducive to creativity: psychology of openness. Florida is looing at how the presence of high-tech industry reflects and signals creativity: ex.
