Poverty and capitalist development in the global south. What is capitalism? a violent break from feudalism. There have been long wars in europe to actually free themselves of feudalism (american civil war). For some reason in the 3rd world, feudalism and capitalism co-exist. In these parts of the world, capitalism still hasn"t evolved. In much of the western world, there are no competing systems (like feudalism). produces a new instrumental rationality. This means to see relationships in the sense of what is in it for me. You have friendships with the people not on the basis of mutual understanding, but how this friendship can serve my needs. Capitalism thrives on this, relationships in the workforce where people are friends to serve each other"s needs. innovative and creative system introduction of wage labour and free" workers human labour becomes a commodity. Becomes a commodity when the worker invests their sweat into the product but they don"t even own the product.
