Feminism- framework for explaining politics and society that sees gender as a fundamental basis of conflict in society and associates politics in all forms. ( males over females) Globalization- increasing interdependence of states, economies and societies throughout the world. Includes things such as international trade, mobility and migration of people, cultural convergence (tastes between cultures combining), and international institutions made for economic and human rights. Government- elected individuals and political party controlling the state at a particular time. Influence- form of power that depends on the ability of a person of group to persuade others that it is reasonable in their self-interest to behave in a particular way. ( voting) Legitimacy- the acceptance by most people that the rules and institutions compromising the state are fair and should be obeyed. Nation- a group of people who share a sense of being a community based on religion, language, ethnicity, shared history or a combination.
