He taught in france alongside albert binet (famous for developing an intelligence test) General understand about child development: children are inquisitive and seek to understand their world. He does not tackle adult development, very child-focus (some argue it is the weakness, but at the time was the biggest step) More strongly on nature side to nurture but still believes in nurture of adapting in the environment a child is in. Schemes/schemas: templates on how to behave or think during a particular situation in response to particular stimuli. Goal during cognitive development is to create schemas. Schema about what is a dog, laptop, how to open a door.
