Considered one of those natural" and essential aspects of every woman"s existence. Motherhood (like marriage) is a social institution that includes biological processes of reproduction and strong beliefs, cultural practices, attitudes, norms, and laws. Who can be a mother (and who can"t) What is an appropriate age to become a mother. Mother is a role; women are human beings . We need to differentiate between socially acquired roles, internalized identities, and inborn traits (essentialism). Why are more women are choosing not to have children. Motherhood mystique: being a mother is the ultimate form of fulfillment for women. It"s a natural and essential part of a woman"s life. If a woman doesn"t want children, she is judged as cold and selfish, or psychologically disturbed. A good mother" takes joy from this: a good mother" has an infinite amount of patience and engages in a lifetime of self sacrifice for her children.
