Personality: an individual"s personality is an abstraction formulated by the theorist and not merely a description of the individual"s behaviour. Pervin(2003: personality is the complex organization of cognitions, affects, and behaviours that gives direction and pattern to the person"s life. Like the body, personality consists of both structures and processes and reflects both nature and nurture. In addition, personality includes the effects of the past, including memories of the past, as well as constructions of the present and future. Raymond catell(1950: personality is that which permits a prediction of what a person will do in a given (future) situation it is concerned with all the behaviour of the individual, both overt and under the skin. Hans eysenck: personality is the more or less stable and enduring organization of a person"s character, temperament, intellect and physique, which determines his unique adjustment to his (or her) environment.
