Doesn"t have to be always; it is like a predisposition: distinctive people differ on the trait. Why traits: trait theorists suggest that trait theory helps personality science for three reasons, 1) description. Trait constructs are descriptive they describe people and their typical behaviour: fundamental start to a scientific investigation.
