Both the final exam (40%) and midterm test (25%) are in multiple choice only. Textbook is important and its information is not overlapped in lecture material. Theme 1 = drug addiction, which is very different than drug use. Theme 2 = the use of drugs to treat mental illness. Midterm is 50/50 lecture and textbook while final exam is more heavily weighted on lecture. Use pubmed or google scholar for the term essay. Sketch = proposal, need about 1-2 pages, probably 1. 5 pages e. g. pros/cons of decriminalizing ecstasy. Stated as a controversy (e. g. behavioural vs. drug treatment of alcoholism) What are the areas you"re going to examine. Consequences for people who don"t smoke it but are affected by it (e. g. innocent drivers) Maybe you"re setting people up for failure by jailing them in the beginning. No apa for sketch but yes apa for final essay (he"s not too picky on it though) Primary effect is non-nutritional (e. g. chocolate/water/salt/food vs. mushrooms)
