Psychoanalysis began an explicit campaign to promote and convince americans of the bene ts of psychoanalysis. Things became hostile when psychoanalysis ignored criticisms of other psychologists; thus, Called psychoanalysis an uncanny religion- published an article called freudism. Psychoanalysis was the product of undeveloped german mind. Psychoanalysis was making personal experience relevant; stating that it was due to. Then they said that the only people quali ed to analyze are psychoanalysts themselves unresolved issues. They started testing theories, literature reviews, to determine if there was anything quanti able. Despite the literature reviews psychoanalysis debate was still not settled. Psychoanalysis was removed from the textbooks in 1954. Psychoanalysis pushed psychologists to be more stringent in their work. Psychology took aspects from psychoanalysis and integrated those methods.
