Document Summary

Interprofessional team process consists not of one process but of a series of subprocesses, which probably take place simultaneously instead of in sequence. Process theory involves the recognition and assessment of a pattern of functioning. Group life: developmental stages of a group: brill, however, identifies five stages in the evolution of a team, each with characteristics, tasks, and outcomes. The first stage is the orientation stage, in which members in a group determine their position with reference to setting and circumstances. The first task is to define the group"s boundaries and to clarify the group"s purpose and tasks. The second orientation task of the team members is to provide support to one another. The second stage in the development of the group or team is the accommodation stage.
