Four analytical concepts: conceptual system: a set of concepts through which society is analyzed into its component elements and which can be articulated together may show what kind of totality a society is. Knowledge construction paradigms: spoken and written language is a social phenomenon which both constrains and enables us. In order to engage in intelligible dialogue with each other we have to follow its grammatical rules and use a vocabulary based on its lexicon of words, generally the words found in comprehensive dictionaries. What is discourse ii: cohesion and coherence remain important but so does. Intentionality (has a message been conveyed deliberately and consciously or inadvertently, thus needing interpretation?) and: context (is the information relevant?) Interpretive communication and discourses: what are some of the cues we depend on when we communicate with each other, breakdowns in understanding are pretty common.
