Gender dichotomies are reflective of the social world: representations largely based on binary understandings of gender. Trans: those whose gender identities do not correspond with the sex characteristics they were born with. In popular culture trans people are invisible, caricatured, represented as victims, and are largely played by cis actors. (cid:862)the repressi(cid:448)e h(cid:455)pothesis(cid:863): talking a(cid:271)out se(cid:454) (cid:449)hen (cid:449)e"re not talking a(cid:271)out se(cid:454) Porn is a place where discursive ideas of sex are reproduced. The logic of porn is now being used outside of porn: ads, movie, language, books, etc. Intersects with dominant ideas of race and sexual orientation: whiteness in porn is centered as the norm; non-white people are either unsexed or oversexed. Black women and objectification: porn to re-center homonormativity. Micromastia: the condition of having small breasts; coined by the cosmetic. Clinique and lab coats makeup produced as analogous to medicine and science. Body modification and the normalization of cosmetic surgery: cosmetic surgery is discursively reproduced.
