The ester of which that is assigned for the synthesis of an ester via. Esters are often the major component with regards to the smell or taste of fruits and it is the same with butyl propionate. Both flavour and smell of butyl propionate gives off fruity and banana sensationi. Butyl propionate is in the form of a colourless clear liquidh and it has a melting point of -75occ, a boiling point of 145occ, a density of 0. 875g/mlc, and a molecular weight of 130. 18g/molc. There are many different uses for butyl propionate but it is mainly used in painting or similar practices f. some example of uses that include butyl propionate are the coatings for many appliances, and the repainting of automobilesf. Generally, the formation of ester is done through the reaction between a carboxylic acid and alcohol as the reactantse.
