43% of women in the workplace have been sexually harassed. Women twice as likely than men to say they experienced unwanted sexual activity. Shows a common category that situations belong to (women being harassed) Helps us to make sense of a rapidly-changing world. This is just the way things are - change will then surprise us. Ideas to drive change will allow us to adapt to change. If we assume our own experience represents the world, then we react badly when we encounter different people.
