Ex: men and women, women have to change to have more men occupations. Certain group of people always do a certain kind of job. Vertical is the difference in pay within same job. Horizontal is the difference in gender distribution between jobs. Gender segregation in canada is still high. Racial segregation in canada is still high. Many estimate of dissimilarities made are under estimates since they compare the minority groups to the population, not just whites: implications. Women earn 71% of what men earn. Women jobs are seen as less skilled: they are devalued, so they get paid less. Even women in men dominated jobs earn less than men. Men are usually advanced first even in a women dominated job. Usually white male have power and authority.
