We are looking at the process for an effective reference interview, it is basically about understanding what your patron wants. We will be using lib guides, as well. Every type of library you can use the same interview processes. Today we are looking at type of questions, how do we answer questions in person versus online, a child versus an adult. Bibliographies, we are on 8 now she will give a comparison chart. We will look at reference policies as well. Roving reference - walking around the library asking patrons if they need help. One of the issues in reference, especially in public is that people will ask you questions about topics you feel strongly about. This is about process, there is a process we need to be working through. Its all about making sure the patron gets the information they need. Libraries are about providing information, any type of info, using a number of dif resources.
