The landscape ecology: sums all the ecosystem that we know of. how do they interfere with each other. estuaries corridor for the salmon. The global ecology: all of them together and look at the earth and how its effected. How abiotic factors affect distribution and abundance of organisms- an example. Climate and theres the geographical barrier between australia and canada. Parasites: numerous, affect host and take organic matter from host slowly killing them. Symbiosis: mutual relationship between two organisms that may or may not be beneficial for both. Competition: strong component. compete for resources (food, mates, nesting sites) Biome: not everyone can live in any environment, they have to be adapted to it. Vertical stratification: also called strata. mostly pronounced in forests. high trees, low trees, shrubs, grass.
