Biotic: community of environment (all different species interact. Abiotic: sunlight, energy, nutrients, atmosphere and water. Energy how energy is used to turn nutrient into life) Thermal is heat or energy and dynamics is movement thus it studies the movement of energy. 1st law is conservation of energy: describe the comity of energy within a closed system: energy not created or destroyed, only being transform and transfer, i. e. amount same at both time but forms differ. Sun is original source for life on earth. In deep see there is deep sea thermal vents that can provide energy for organism down below in ocean. For autotrophs or photosynthetic organism, the proton from sun provide direct source of energy and they convert this into biomass. Biomass: cellular material and chemical energy that are rich and organic compounds and this is the energy that is accessible for primary producers (thus it got its name)
