Document Summary
Misinformation has been put out about dif agencies, ie. vaccinations. Create divides about vaccinations and change political views/influence politics votes etc. Important to know how to critically evaluate claims! (understand where information came from) Hierarchy of evidence (eecpa: (strongest) experimental: controlled experiments on scientific method. Test w/ experiment (isolate items, test it so u know info is not confounded) **iterative process, keep researching and ask new hypotheses, ie, wd40 example, did experiments and 40th version was a spray that worked properly for the military. Compare a control group with an experimental group (between subjects) Compare one group that does both control and experiment (within subjects) Population>sample> groups (control, treatment1, t2)> placebo,t1,t2> outcome measure > stats > interpret results > communicate results. Sample should be representative of the population (ie, if population 40% male, 60% female, sample needs to also have these characteristics)
