Groups: two or more people with a common relationship. (ex. Team: a small number of people working together to achieve a common objective. Use the terms interchangeably in this course. Problem solving: manage and identify a problem by management and team of people solve that problem (ideas) Self managed: identify the problem, make decisions as a group and implement the decision. Cross-functional: bring together people from different, having different perspectives. Virtual: any of these can be virtual. Initially you don"t do much as a group. Hit the half way point with a lot of productivity. Neither of the models reflects how all the team functions. Groups are a subset of a larger workplace consisting of the following: : do they have enough group members: leadership and structure: ex. : is there a leader in the group: climate of trust: psychological safety (do you trust each other to say things?)
