Document Summary

Principle #3. 1 - learning happens when our predictions are wrong. Can also be said - learning proportional to surprise. The more surprising the thing is, the more learning is done. General idea - if you ring bell, dog will not salivate. If pair bell with food, reliably, over time, dog will learn sound of bell cues food & will begin salivating even when there is no food. Train animal using cue, keep training & wait for response. Eventually, if cue not paired with certain stimulus, then response will slowly no longer occur. Before training, shock & rat will jump. Then, during training, give them sound in advance of shock & will jump. Eventually, once they learn that, if you give them tone only, they will jump in response to tone only. Hypothesis - principle describing how learning works. Principle of frequency - the more 2 stimulator paired, more they come associated w/ each other.
