Sexual offenders and sexual violence campus sexual assault is pervasive. 11. 2% of all students experience rape or sexual assault through physical force, violence, or incapacitation. 23. 1% of female undergraduates and 5. 4% of male undergraduates experience rape or sexual assault. 4 out of 5 female students do not report. Rates highest in rst semester of rst and second year. Nothing in the ccc that talks about rape. Public victimization surveys and police reports victimization surveys: the general social survey. Most recent gss (2014) counted 2,200 sexual assaults per 100,000 population by asking: 512,000 sexual assaults in canada per year (based on 2004 results) 1 in 4 canadian women will be sexually assaulted during their lifetime. Over 80% of sex crime victims are women. 80% of perpetrators are known to the victim. Includes sexual assaults of varying severity factors affecting of cial statistics. Did not want perpetrator to get in trouble. Do not want police involved/think they will help.
