Based on a premise of exchange - anytime you are somewhere you leave something behind and you take something with you. 2009 - report about current status of forensic science. Still very relevant - talks about how it needs to be improved but did not improve. Have judicial role - to find out facts of what happened, not to find who did it. Using a deceased skeleton and see who they were (sex, etc) Help determine who the person was (based on where they were last seen), determining time of death is very challenging bc includes a lot of internal and external factors, etc. Whos involved, their roles, how they search and analyze crime scene, how they maintain and record evidence they found. Help reconstruct how far they got shot, etc. Any biological evidence that dna can be extracted: Doesn"t mean that a person is there, even if he/she isnt the offender.
