Terrorism based on religion exists among all religions. Irgun group use terrorism to get rid of british control in palestine, based on tradition, right to return (romans drove them out) based on history. Christian based terrorism: army of god also based on history. Could be economic or global strategic that makes countries intervene, attack another. Middle east: agrarian, single commodity economics religion, regional, clan, extended family. Boko haram was a big threat until a year ago but began to lose control to nigeria government. Imitated isis: government indiscriminating violence encourages terrorism, young people held in custody for a year without trial, tortured for information. The revolution armed forces of colombia people"s army. La violencia: violent civil war between the conservation party and liberal party. Main target: security forces and political elite, attacked police stations, military posts. Recruitment: all ages and genders, appealed to poor, rural communities, for adventure, opportunity, revenge. Peace negotiations between farc and the colombian government were unsuccessful.
