Csc has employment equity targets with peoplesoft. Csc recognizes that the needs of offenders are diverse. However, religion is not an employment equity target. Confusion results from employment equity programs to aboriginal offenders. Meet criteria and are qualified for other departments. Federal institutions are under the official languages act. Services must be available in both official languages. As a result, corrections has developed many ethnic, cultural, spiritual contracts. Misconception that one may get promoted bc they are a visible minority. Some admins say it is the right thing to do. Don"t need another person with crim degree. Need someone with qualification in spirituality, traditional, and cultural practices to deliver. Moral thinking is a skill that can be developed. In order to create environment for offenders to encourage them to change. Must e treated with dignity and respect.
