Profile-defendant correspondence (p-dc): when trying to introduce the profile to illustrate or suggest to a jury that the defendant matches or does not match it, e. g. , the offender matches the profile of a psychopath. Profile-crime correspondence (p-cc): profilers report the similarity between two or more crimes, which would indicate that the same individual has committed them (also referred as case linkage or similarity analysis) P-dc is more controversial than p-cc: p-dc necessitates direct commentary about the defendant, whereas p-cc considers the similarity between offenses. Frye general acceptance rule: even if the credentials of the expert were flawless, the scientific knowledge had to have been gathered using scientific techniques that had gained general acceptance in the field the general acceptance standard. Scientific information, methods, techniques must have general acceptance from the scientific community. Content must be beyond the knowledge of the average layperson.
