Document Summary

In disgrace, there are many disturbing and detailed scenes written provocatively throughout the novel, and one particular scene triggered me. Shepherds [snapped] at the rifle the tall man was holding, the dog"s blood and brain. The rest of the dogs ceased to bark and resist as they had realized that it was futile to fight against someone with a rifle who had killed the biggest dog in the cage. They, too, were shot by the cruel man as they were picked off one by one as if it were some kind of game to him. I am triggered by this scene in particular because it showed readers just how incapable some human beings are in feeling sympathy towards other forms of life. People like the tall man deserves to experience the same, or rather similar situation that david had gone through in order to fully understand just how cold and cruel him and his actions had been.
