Benighted snow : benighted denotes something overtaken by darkness, be nighted becoming night, could also be moral darkness, something became dark. Blanker whiteness : how can white be anymore blank, there"s nothing in white, how can it be anymore blank. 3rd stanza there"s imagery in this stanza, but it"s more figurative & needs more interpretation. Absent-spirited : think, similar to absent-minded people who are absent minded don"t really pay attention, their minds aren"t there, absent-spirited, their spirit isn"t there.
