Everyone had freedom to do whatever they wanted, freedom of work. Beliefs of anarchism in anarres was followed like religion. Maximize individual freedom and acknowledge mutual aid and necessity of cooperative behaviour. Anarres has free initiative (do anything you want without harming others) Everyone does the dirty work for a little while, every 10 days you have to do dirty work. Socialist states do not have the same individual freedoms as anarres. It enclosed the universe, leaving annares outside, free. Looked at from the other side, the wall enclosed annares: the whole planet was inside it, a great prison camp in quarantine .
