Greenpeace: social movements susustain those challenges over time, performance is a really prominent important element of social movement activity, the way in which social movements try to get their message out is in part through demonstrating the messages. It prevents the economy and pieces of economies to function: more powerful than contained action, domesticated action, powerful and gives you leverage but hard to mobilize disruptive action over time for various reasons. Social networks are ongoing links but not formal links/relationships exist likeminded people who come together to act on a certain issue and so any social movements. Organizations are more formalized and large organizations, and there must be administration structures and someone making administrative decisions (somewhat hierarchical) Organizations: provide leadership to the movement (help to frame issues, help provide financial support/assistance.
