Def past wrongs: past wrongs are cases of substantial past injustice in which all the wrongdoers and victims have since died. Two kinds of reparations perez distinguishes: there may be some justified claims for restitution . Restitution: giving back to a person the tangible assets acquired through unjust enrichment (ex. Stolen painting, family heirlooms: claims for compensation is never justified. Bringing the victim to a level that s/he would have enjoyed had the wrong not occurred; making the victim whole again. Compensation must take stock of full impact of the loss or damage to some victims.
