Recognition by components theory/hypothesis (rbc): creating objects out of pieces. Primitive shapes (geons) make up most of everything in the world. Perception is way more bottom up in this theory. Size and depth perception (monocular- can see with one eye) Leonardo window = an early drawing aid (always keeps your head in the same place then painting something) to keep depth accurate. Interposition and occlusion (best depth cue: when things are in front, it gives a powerful cue of how far away the thing behind it is. If objects are closer and farter away but positioned within a background where there are converging lines: ex- row of corn field on a farm.
