Two factor theory of emotion: a person"s level of arousal determines the intensity of an emotional experience, but the specific type of emotional experience is determined by contextual cues. Study on how vitamin supplements affect vision. Participants were informed, not informed, or misinformed about the side effects (iv 2) Participants complete waiting period with a happy or angry confederate (iv 2) Emotional responses of participants (self-report and ratings by observers) Participants who were informed about the real side effects of the drug were not affected by the confederate. Participants who were not informed or misinformed about the side effects were affected by the confederate. Brain imaging technology provides more insights into physiological origins of emotions. Newer theories build on schacter"s core ideas.
