Then behaviorism came along and redefined psychology as the study of behavior. Lasted for a bit then cognitive revolution broke out in the 1950s, (the study of mental life), back to studying the mind. Often told that cognitive revolution displaced behaviourism, but it infact still lived on in form of behaviour analysis (which today is still a field of study/academic interest) Article analyzes how behaviorism is depicted in the story of the cognitive revolution, as well as some of the reactions that portrayal generated within behavior analysis to show/discuss/bring to light that alternate versions/opinions of history exist. Tldr = authors look at history critically and bring to light that behaviourists vs cognitvists tell a different story about history. History of psyc told in different ways (b vs c: authors are aware that history is a product of the selective interpretation of an historian.
