We decided that this is the beginning of the modern period of the history of psychology. Psychology has been of interest since the beginning of time, we have been asking very similar questions for a very long time. Historians have decided to separate ancient roots (philosophical foundation), from modern psychology. History is the branch of knowledge that attempts to analyze and explain events of the past. History is a product of selection and interpretation. Conducting original research an attempt to describe some psychological phenomenon of interest, involved generating hypotheses, designing instruments, creating and utilizing measure and methods, analyzing data, communicating results, and ultimately building theory. Teaching and training undergraduate and graduate students. Service to their various professional units, (departmental, institutional, scholarly) attending conferences, sitting on a committee, etc. Refers to a body of techniques for investigating phenomena, acquiring new knowledge, or correcting and integrating previous knowledge.
