Alternative view: role of emotions from a developmental perspective is that they from the interpersonal relationships of mutual affection in which morality develops as a way of treating each other in actual practice. Social intuitionism model is the claim that moral decisions are typically the result of intuitions based on evolved emotional reactions that are justi ed after the fact. People are really like layers using moral reasoning to justify decisions already made based on evolved emotional reactions. Moral intuitions are claimed to be rapid, effortless and automatic. Decision is based on the guy response and the reasoning is used to justify the decision to the self and others. Reasoning is secondary, it is a justi cation for an intuitive judgement.
