Theory that a lot of our approaches in psych are based on modern synthesis. Psychology studying of organisms that have developed. We don"t have an accurate model of modern synthesis. The approached we looked on last week that were on adaptationists approached this approaches are insufficient because they are based on the old model. There"s not enough info encoded in the genome for blueprint. Natural selection is not evolution- ns is one mechanism of evolution and it can take a broader view in evolution about the changes in lineage. The organism doesn"t not compute itself from the dna. He mentions the old framework- they needed a simple model and track genetics so they started to trace allele. Little bit of the genome can code, most of it cant. Where does the consistency come from---- theres more than just the genome. We don"t just inherit genes, we inherit cells, etc. The whole idea of nature nurture is painful nature/nurture is confusion.
