Three main theories (ep, gene culture, human beh ecology) are claimed by some to assume the same evolutionary meta-theory. I. e. , neo-darwinian modern synthesis and its selectionist population genetic view of evolution. According to laland et al. People resist on the idea that phenotypes aren"t genetically determined (eg: the nose, personality) Circle 1: so there was darwinian thinking: common descent and natural selection. Circle 2: mendelian genetics: modern synthesis, population -statistical genetics= neo-darwinian. It"s extending the synthesis of neo-darwinian ideas but in an usual way--different paradigm. Eg: evo-devo: different paradigm, can"t use neo-darwinian thinking. It"s about the key regulator genes that matter (evolution and development) Evolution as a population of competing genes: alleles.
