White decided that the wriings of engels and marx made sense and that he could use their ideas in his wriings, but there were strong ani-communist movements during this ime. He did use the works menioned above but did not cite marx or engels, he was however able to cite morgan"s work. He didn"t use marxist terms for relaionships in society.
